Beautiful Beaulieu

Adventuring the Beaulieu river was simply stunning. What a jewel that we are lucky enough to have access to, close to home.

We pre-booked our slipway access/ parking at Bucklers Hard (£10pp) and launched easily a few hours before high tide. We first explored the down river route past Royal Southamptons Yacht Club/Gin’s Sailing Club and towards the river entrance near Lepe Beach, passing Gypsy Moth IV.

We then rowed to the very top of the river near the Montague Arms Hotel and the Abbey, resting there before returning back to Bucklers Hard.

Although the river was full of activity; swimmers, sailors, motor cruisers, SUPs, kayaks, canoes, it still felt incredibly peaceful and so very relaxing…
