New Year, New Adventures.

Happy New Year to you all.

So, finally the wind has dropped off and I have enjoyed getting back out on the water both solo and with our new learners and we’ve had some epic sunrises and sunsets already- they are so good for the soul.

Explorers, keep an eye on last minute sessions and the soon to be released Adventure Packages for 2022 (see below). There’ll be something for everyone.

G’Rowing Community

Our rowing community is expanding rapidly. Aren’t we just SO lucky to live in this amazing location.

We note that Lymington Rowing Club membership (LARC) has expanded this year from 68 to 130; evenly distributed through Race (Adult and Junior) and Recreational membership. The Rowing Adventures Learn to Row programme, followed by The Try Crew Taster session has opened up a pathway for this transition and growth. The LARC Recreational Rowing programme gives both ex rowers and new rowers a flexible opportunity to enjoy keeping fit, on the water in a wonderful community.

Indoor Rowing

We have recently launched the NEW Indoor Rowing programme to help us move healthier through the winter. Our RowFit indoor session is now a regular fixture of the week, with 3 sessions offered at the Lymington Rowing Club clubroom venue. Couch to 2, 5 or 10k programmes are also available, should you wish to set some distance/ endurance goals. These Indoor sessions are great for anyone as a form of cross training for Skiing, running, sailing etc…

Development of Coastal Rowing

Coastal Rowing is in an exciting phase both locally, nationally and on the Olympic and World stage.

Lymington will host a flagship event called the Lymington Offshore Rowing Regatta (LORR) this April 22-24 in the Western Solent, so viewing will be possible from the sea wall near Oxey Lakes. Competitors will come from all over the UK to race over a 4k or 6k course in singles, doubles, quads and Fours.

RA and LARC are mid collaboration meetings with those wanting to support this event. All will be revealed soon.

In October 2022, Saundersfoot, Wales will host the World Rowing Coastal Championships, following the British Championships in June at the same venue.

Here’s a review of 2021.

Rannoch Adventures

Jane and I are heading up to Rannoch @Burham on Crouch next week to collect the new Rannoch Explorer (2 seater tourer) for this season. ‘Dopey’ has been sold so is returning for a service/ refurb before heading to his new owners. It’s a great opportunity for us to visit and view their fleet of 3-12 seater boats. Rannoch are the leading boat manufacturer for the Tallisker Whisky Challenge- Atlantic Campaign.

Explore- Adventure Programme 2022

The programme for 2022 is about to be released with a variety of venues stretching across the South Coast and we are also considering a trip to Wales.

Regular localised explore sessions are now available to book on our website.

Please let us know if you want to create a session, we are happy to organise more if wind/ weather and availability allows.
