Santa Aqua Dash 2021- £792.10 raised

Wind scuppered our original Santa Aqua Dash plan on Dec 5th so we regrouped and had 2 wonderful events in it’s place.

Saturday Dec 11th, rowers and kayakers cruised up the Lymington River to The Quay, under the railway bridge and up to The floating Santa in the lagoon at Lymington Shores. High water enabled a photo opportunity with Santa which stopped traffic and caused a lot of tooting!

Sunday Dec 19th, rowers and JO@SUP Styles, meandered up river with the RNLI rib to deliver Santa to the annual Rotary Club ‘Santa on the Quay’ event. The parade of craft all lit up (with nav lights and Christmas lights) was quite magical as it arrived to the awaiting crowd, flares alerting them to his arrival.

Both Lymington Rowing Club, Christchurch Rowing Club and the Wight Link ferry team supported this charity fundraiser, holding their own events. Together we have raised £720 on Justgiving and a further £72.10, totalling £767.10 in the Wightlink charity box. It’s been great fun supporting our wonderful local hospice.

Happy Christmas ALL.
